Animal House Shelter

We had a fabulous experience with Animal House Shelter. The application process was very quick, and we were able to schedule an appointment within a few days of our approval. The staff was very patient and brought us many dogs to meet. They were ready to answer any questions we had. When we met our new puppy, we knew right away that he was the one. They were as excited as we were to see us matched with the right puppy. I recommend AHS highly to anyone who is looking for a new furry family member!

We had a wonderful experience adopting from animal house shelter. My partner and I adopted our first dog together, and Bonnie Belle (formerly Lake) is the perfect addition to our family. She was extremely shy the first few weeks, but has really opened up and shown her goofy and loving side. I was really pleased to see staff help us find a good match for our lifestyle, and making sure she was good with cats, as we have two at home. She passed the cat test and gets along great with our two boys. The shelter itself was well organized and clean, and offered a big yard for us to meet with our pup before adopting. The staff was wonderful start to finish, I heard back quickly about our application, they were patient and friendly at the shelter, and then they have checked in post adoption to see how she's doing. They made finding our pup a great experience, and she is loving her new home! 💖

We are so thankful for the staff at this shelter. They are quick to answer, very efficient, and driven with care in making sure they not only help their animals find a home, but that they go to a home that is a good match. The process was streamlined, made sense, and provided a quick turn around to adding another furry addition to our family. They are super informative, very aware of the background of their animals and their individual needs. We appreciate them being upfront and how organized their process was. We now just hit our one month with our new dog, Luna and we could not be happier. They also provide a lot of "after adoption" info and make sure you are informed of what to expect. Thank you for making this experience so pleasant and streamlined.

3 Reasons Why I recommend this Shelter: -FAST RESPONSE TIME: I submitted my application and was approved that very day. I also called with some questions and able to schedule an appointment that very weekend! -KNOWLEDGABLE & KIND STAFF: The staff was not only kind but also highly knowledgeable. You get to spend time with your furry friend in the play yard before you adopt them! Any questions they have an answer and are very thorough. -POST-ADOPTION PROCEDURE: I was given a breakdown, timeline and records of my pups medical background as well as what she would be needing in the following weeks. They let us know that if she needed any extra medication that they would provide it at no extra fee within the first month of adoption. Overall I will recommend this shelter to anyone and everyone! My family and I are having so much fun with our newest member :D

We came to Animal house looking for a puppy. Application process was very straightforward and I got a response very quickly. Was able to schedule an appointment that worked with my schedule. Was very happy with the adoption counselors and overall experience. We absolutely love our puppy and would highly recommend adopting from Animal House!

My husband and I had such an incredible experience with Animal House Shelter adopting our dog! We filled out our application on a Friday afternoon, got approved that very day, and got an appointment to come meet prospective dogs Saturday morning! You can imagine how excited we were! The woman we worked with as our adoption counselor was so kind and helpful. We told her a bit about ourselves, what we had in mind as far as size/energy level/cat-friendly, etc and she brought us the most perfect dog to meet. Within minutes, we were sure she was the dog for us! Even so, there was no rush to make a decision and she offered to introduce us to more dogs if we wanted to. Our little pup, now named Lorelei, did have a medical condition coming home with us, and they have been very supportive in getting her the care she needs. They sent us home with so much helpful information on what we can expect bringing home a rescue and how to make the transition as seamless as possible. We are so incredibly glad we found this shelter and could not recommend them more!

We came in to volunteer in the cat room and came home with a new addition to our family a couple of days later. This was not the intent but we fell in love with the little guy. The volunteer process is easy as is signing up for hours. The cat room is spacious and the cats get to free roam. Tons of toys and volunteers socializing them. You always wish every cat could be adopted but you don’t feel sad coming to the shelter. They have a lovely place to wait for their forever homes. The shelter also does a great job with vetting—no adoptions without the whole family meeting the pets, thorough application process, and prospective adopters are required to bring their current dogs in to meet the new ones. The adoption itself was simple and the kitties come spayed/neutered, with their vaccines, and with microchips. Staff is helpful and friendly.
